The belles-lettres initiated by Daghighi and finished by Ferdowsi, gave Iranians the possibility of becoming familiar with their national identity, so distinguished them from the Bedouin traditions of the Arabs.

This poetry book is unique of its kind because of its eloquence of narration, intenseness, rhythm, dynamism, and the initiative forms of description for its personages that gradually found their place in the daily life and mentality of Iranians. The art of narration performs individually by an experienced person called: Na ghal (narrator) paved the way for the play of many exciting shows throughout Iran. The narrator, as an actor, while narrating mythological and epic stories of the Shah Nameh, also plays the roles of all personages in the narrated story simultaneously. In these plays, Rostam (the famous national hero), is a dynamic character of manliness presented as a perfect patriot. A narrator sometimes uses some outfits such as: staff, dagger. axe, mace to reproduce some of the ancient famous battlefields or other historic scenes so masterfully that spectators engrossed in the details that they instead of being in coffee houses (the place where customarily the plays are performed), feel as if they were really present there. They usually shout, laugh, and accompany the narrator and pursue the episodes, ignorant of passing time.

The narrator usually makes every endeavor to pause on the most sensitive dents of the story to focus attention and encouragement of people to participa in the next stages. Since the 14th century, the mythological stories were revive by artists in a pictorial form and in a format of mural paintings, which later de picted on tilework.
By the end of the 18th century, another genre of painting prevailed called; Qahveh Khanehie (Coffee House style). In this style, an artist, after Visualizing about a personage, incarnates an appropriate visage and body for him (her). Due to the performances taking place in coffee houses, usually some panels of paintings on large-size cottons or on the walls of the coffee houses, painted to appear to customers, so is called; Coffee House style. Yea, Shah Nameh and Ferdowsi kept immortal for the revival of pure Iranian culture and refinement of Persian language from foreign words. Esfahani artists also created some masterpieces in the Qahveh Khanehie genre, which exist in Eman Zadeh Shah Zeid. Chehel Sotoon Palace, Dareb-e-Emam' and hundreds of other painted cotton clothes.
